iCLAW & Mount Lawyers merge to become: iCLAW | The Mount Lawyers

In December 2022, The Mount Lawyers became part of iCLAW, a full-service law firm based in Hamilton. Mount Lawyers continues to operate as a division of iCLAW, now known as iCLAW | The Mount Lawyers.

Mount Lawyers (also previously known as CG Law Limited) has a rich history, having previously been owned and operated by Clive Gardner for 37 years, then by Grant Aislabie for a further 4 years, before becoming part of iCLAW in 2022. This strategic partnership sees Partner Grant Aislabie and Partner Seb Bucher continue to operate from the Mount Lawyers office at 159 Maunganui Road, now also supported by the wider iCLAW team.

Grant and Seb are now also joined by Partner David Gubb, a long-time Mount local and legal specialist.

iCLAW Partners Sam Douglas and Owen Culliney were also both born and bred in Tauranga, and their families have deep roots in the region. For Sam - the ties to Mount Lawyers goes further. Sam's father, John Douglas (a Family Law Barrister), and Grant Aislabie (current partner of Mount Lawyers) were once in partnership together. Clive Gardner also worked with Sam's dad John many years ago, and remains a good friend of the Douglas family today. Sam and the iCLAW team are proud to have inherited this legacy, and look forward to the opportunities that arise from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.
